Moving right along!

Source

I have big news. We finished up all of the projects around our house and put it on the market! AND, we had a showing the next day followed by more over that weekend … we accepted an offer 4 days later! It’s been a busy few weeks around here!

While we still have normal selling-your-house procedures to go through, if all goes well, our closing date will be about a month away! We are looking at homes here and there, but we aren’t in any hurry to find our forever home. I think we’ll be renting for a while.

I need to start packing! If I had the luggage above, I’d probably be looking forward to that aspect a bit more. Anyhow, I just wanted to update you on my absence … I’ll be popping in and out for a while still, but I’m anxious to get back!

If we weren’t preparing to sell our home, I would definitely have to hang this print!

Last week, we had carpet installed. Because my computer was being moved here and there while we shuffled furniture around, I decided to just take a little break! It was very nice and me and the Hubba got quite a bit done on our house! I think we’ll finally have the house ready to list next week. Hooray!

Now I’m playing a bit of catch-up, but I plan to be posting this week. I hope everyone’s having a lovely last few days of March!

UPDATE: My blogging break is continuing until our house is listed! The to-do list somehow keeps getting longer and longer…be back soon!

happy st. patrick’s day!

I’d prefer this milkshake over most of the green beverages being served up today! I hope everyone’s having an extra lucky day!

Have you seen this blog post from My Life Scoop and Design Sponge? It lists some pretty cool gizmos and even handy apps. I don’t have an iPhone (sadly), but I’m taking note for when I do someday! I think lots of DIY-ers out there will appreciate this roundup!

thanks a “bow” lot

Ha! I had to get that out of my system here before I wrote it on a thank you card I’m getting ready to pen. These bows are going in the mail to a few ladies I admire very much.

I found the tutorial on How About Orange. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was the perfect thank you gesture. Aren’t they cute?

Hello friends! I’ve been MIA so far this week…shame on me! But I come bearing cookies. Virtual cookies.

I found the recipe for the S’more cookies above on the Papery and Cakery blog. I couldn’t resist making them! And let me tell you, they were a hit! I pulled them out of the oven while we had a handful of people over helping us with our basement. Gone within minutes! My cell phone photo above is nothing compared to Ali’s. My cookies all mushed together and I may have left them in too long…but still, they tasted SO good!  via @paperyandcakery

And speaking of cookies, check out this engagement session on the Southern Weddings blog! Adorable! via @iloveswmag

Kate Holland of Ruby and Willow has the best Tuesday Shoesday posts. The one above is from a couple of weeks ago, and I adore it! I would wear every single item!

And don’t you love how all of the pieces have been combined so nicely? She puts together her outfits with Polyvore. That’s a web site that allows you to create sets of clothing from a bazillion images of products from all over the world. You can even put in your own images of your own clothing and have a virtual closet! I have been playing around with the site, pretending I’m rich and famous, mixing and matching outfits. It’s nice to be able to make up crazy combinations and see what you like.

And the best thing is you can rollover each product in your board and it will tell you the designer and price, so you don’t need to link to a bunch of different sites if you want to make a board and throw it on your blog. You can start with a blank board or begin with a template. That’s what I did, below. I’m imagining this outfit for a day at the lake! Well, it might be a little much, but it definitely makes me think of the lake.

I’m warning you, it’s a pretty addictive site!

glee fashion

I nearly forgot Glee is on tonight! Remembering that made my day so much better. That show just makes me happy! It’s a good mix of talent and silly fun.

In honor of my latest favorite show, I wanted to share with you some photos of the fashionable ladies of Glee from the SAG Awards.

tricks and tools: vol. 6

Have you discovered Etsy’s treasury search? I’m new to treasuries, but I’m kind of addicted! They are perfect for inspiration – and especially creating inspiration boards! You can search for random terms, like honeysuckle or birdcage veil (above). The results are broken down into treasuries, which are groups of Etsy items available for purchase.

For example, here’s the “Here comes the bride..” treasury results:

Hello sunny yellow! You can see that all of these items aren’t veils. One or two of the items have been tagged as such though, so that’s why it pops up in your search. But don’t you love everything in this? I know, I am a link-hopping enabler.
